For the past 6 weeks my parents have been over here helping out. The plan was for them to be here before Knox was born so that they could look after Tate while I was in hospital and then help out while I was getting my head around looking after two kids under two. Unfortunately that didn’t go to plan as Knox arrived 3 weeks early and exactly a week before my parents did. Cheeky little monkey!
My parents left yesterday and we are sad to see them go. It was great having them here helping and we enjoyed showing them around New York.
Here is a look at some of the fun we had:
One of the first weekends they were here we headed off to Chinatown. It was a stinking hot day! I’m not sure how we all coped. Luckily Tate had a chance to cool off at the local playground.
We also went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is gigantic, so we couldn’t possibly see it all.
Central Park was a popular destination. Not only for the numerous playgrounds but to enjoy the atmosphere and to check out different areas like Strawberry Fields.
We also headed to DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass), which we hadn’t been to before. This included a ferry ride over the East River, a stop at Jacques Torres Chocolates, a walk around the park over looking the water and lunch at an iconic DUMBO restaurant called Superfine.
