For those of you who have chatted with Tate in the last few months, I’m sure you’ve been told how much he enjoys going to the gym with Mummy or Daddy (mostly he requests Daddy!). It is such a great way to expend some energy, especially at times when he’s been stuck in the house a lot and it is also a great way to practice his gross motor skills!
Once a week Tate heads to the gym for a formal class that includes free play and structured circle time of warm up activities, songs and playing without parental involvement. To begin with Tate hated circle time and never wanted to sit still but he is getting better!
Also, at least a few times a week we try to take Tate for free play sessions where they can run around and use all the equipment however they wish. Each week they play around with the equipment so that it looks different and they can use it in different ways, which makes each session a little bit more interesting.
As yet we haven’t signed up Knox to join. He’ll probably join up when he’s a reasonable walker. So he often stays at home either napping or playing with one parent; but one day Tate really wanted both Mummy and Daddy to come to his session and Knox got a lovely surprise and was allowed to join in because they weren’t busy. He loved it!
So here’s a look at the fun Tate’s had at the gym:
