Playing tourist

Before Aunty Jess arrived Tate made a list of all the things he thought Aunty Jess would like to see. He had a lot of suggestions after consulting his book about New York! We had a very busy time trying to fit in Tate’s suggestions along with all of Aunty Jess’ too. Unfortunately, though we got everything on Aunty Jess’ list done, we didn’t get to all of Tate’s! Luckily he felt he achieved a lot anyway and wasn’t too disappointed!

Day two saw us heading to one of Tate and Knox’s favourite places- The American Museum of Natural History. Of course Tate wanted to go and check out the dinosaurs straight away like the previous visit. We did manage to convince him to visit other areas that we didn’t see last time and still got to check out all the dinosaurs!

Apparently this meteorite is not bigger than Tate!

After this we spent the rest of the day at the Highline and Chelsea Markets.

The next day we headed to midtown to show Aunty Jess some of the big landmarks including the Flatiron Building, Chrysler Building, Empire State Building and Grand Central Station.

When we arrived at Madison Square Park we were surprised to find snow men hanging out there!

The snow men are part of an art installations called “Snow Monsters” by Peter Regli. Each snow man is made of marble and were made in Vietnam by specialists in traditional marble statues for Buddhist temples.
