Last day with Aunty Jess.

We had so much fun with Aunty Jess that Tate still talks about it a lot. He mentions where we went with her, what we saw and often asks where she is now. If he could have Aunty Jess here again; he would be the happiest boy! He loved playing tourist, playing all his games and just spending time with her. Thank you so much for visiting and we hope next time Uncle Carlos can come too!!!

So, to finish off our time with Aunty Jess, we first need to show our trip to the Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Centre. Ideally we wanted to go there close to sunset so we could see the view during the day and as the sun is setting at night. Unfortunately by the time we arrived, the next viewing session available was after dark. Oh well, the lights are amazing at night as well. All was not lost!

It really is lovely, isn't it?

One of the great things about the Top of the Rock is that you get a great view of the Empire State Building. So if you only want to go to one viewing place then you need to decide if you want to go to the Empire State Building (because it is the touristy thing to do) or if you want a view of the Empire State Building. For Jess, she chose the latter.

For her last day in New York Aunty Jess chose to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art (The MET). Tate was happy because he was able to tick another place off his A to Z list.

In Tate’s book they mention that when you visit the MET you should try to find William the Blue Hippo, who is the mascot of the MET. So of course we gave Tate the task of finding said hippo. He absolutely loved having his job to do. The MET is HUGE though, so we did ask a docent for the rough area it is in to give him a head start!

Found him in the Egypt area. There were a lot of little blue figurines to look through!

We had a fun day at the MET. We ended our day with a goodbye dinner at a local burger place – Jackson Hole. Can’t leave the US without enjoying a gigantic plate of burger and fries!

Goodbye Aunty Jess. We loved having you here and we miss you a lot!
