Providence, Rhode Island

The last stop on our road trip was Providence, Rhode Island. We drove past on our road trip with Richard’s parents back in 2013, but now was time to actually check the area out.

Our first stop was the Children’s Museum. It wasn’t the biggest children’s museum on the planet, but there were definitely some things there that made it far more exciting than the one here in Manhattan.

Knox and Tate LOVED sending balls and ribbons soaring through the air tubes and having them come flying out through the air.

The Whirlpool was pretty cool and the kids spent quite some time playing with it.

The afternoon was spent wandering around looking at historical buildings. Unfortunately we weren’t able to go into any as they were closed because of labour day.

The next day we first headed to the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium. We thought the one we went to in Connecticut was small; but this one was absolutely tiny compared!

Watching the bees was definitely Tate and Knox's favourite part. It was hard to draw them away!

Before heading back to New York we checked out the Roger Williams Park Botanical Center. It includes two greenhouses filled with plants, fountains, a fish pond and a small waterfall. Plus a maze that the kids liked in the actual gardens. Not the biggest maze (you could see the appropriate routes even walking up to it) but the kids enjoyed it just the same.
