On Thursday last week we headed to the New York Botanical Gardens to see the Holiday Train Show. The Holiday Train Show features model trains driving around replicas of New York land marks made out of wood, bark, nuts and leaves. This is an annual show, with new displays added often. This year, I’m told, the lay out changed significantly.
The show is held in The Conservatory – a beautiful Victorian style glasshouse. Walking up to it, it looked amazing surrounded by snow.
The Holiday Train Show is celebrating 22 years. On a quarter mile track the trains drive by over 140 New York landmarks including the Empire State Building, Guggenheim, Yankee Stadium, Macy’s…… To name just a few.
Lets take a look:
The Holiday Train Show also features The Artist Studio which houses some cool fairy tale type designs, some foreign landmarks (e.g. Leaning Tower of Pisa) and a step by step of the design process.
