Japan!

Recently we headed to Japan to visit friends on our way to Adelaide for Christmas. We were so excited to go to Japan again not so much to play tourist, but to hang out with everyone for a week, to meet a new addition to our friends’ family and to introduce Knox! I was 29 weeks pregnant with Knox the last time we were there….

Given that we weren’t really being tourists there aren’t a huge amount of fun and exciting photos, but I will of course share what I can of our time in Japan.

Almond pudding and milk! I didn't know how much Tate could pack away until he had the buffet in front of him. And he'd still ask for food 5 minutes after we left the hotel!

Our first full day in Japan saw us heading out to Shinjuku Central Park before meeting a friend for lunch. Though Shinjuku Central Park didn’t rival New York in terms of size, it did have some nice areas to wander around in and a playground for the kids.

Of course we checked out the playground first! We got a bit worried to begin with that it wasn’t open to the public as there was a huge group of children sitting in front of it listening to a talk. Given we can’t speak Japanese we were unsure if any signs were advising us not to go in or what the children were doing in the park.

We decided to risk it and let the kids start playing. We figured we’d be ask to leave if we weren’t allowed! We weren’t asked and within about 10 minutes of our arrival the kids left anyway.

Such a high playground!

This might rival Tate's favourite slide at Billy Johnson Playground for height!

That bridge to climb up was so steep and slippery the kids couldn't climb up without sliding back down again!
